2009 Gator Bowl Tickets- Clemson vs. Nebraska
From its first game that pit Wake Forest against South Carolina, the Gator Bowl is one of the oldest college bowl games and is played every year in Jacksonville, Florida. Until the early nineties, the game was always played at the Gator Bowl Stadium. However, after the stadium was partially torn down during the construction of the new ALLTEL stadium in 1993, the game was temporarily shifted to Gainesville, Florida for a year and ever since then, from 1996, the game has been regularly held at the Jacksonville Municipal Stadium including this year’s 2009 Gator Bowl in which Clemson will return for the ninth time to play The Nebraska Cornhuskers.
The Clemson Tigers have a 7-5 record entering the Konica Minolta Gator Bowl and they have won four of their last five games, including a 27-21 road win over Boston College and a 31-14 win over the South Carolina Gamecocks in their final southeastern conference game of 2008. The Tigers finished strong under Head Coach Dabo Swinney, who became the interim head coach in October after Tommy Bowden resigned. He was named the Tiger’s head coach on December 1st. The Tigers have a 4 and 4 record entering the 2009 Gator Bowl.
The 8-4 Nebraska Cornhuskers, winners of five of their final six games, will make their 1st appearance in the Gator Bowl. This will be the 14th different bowl game in which Nebraska has been a competitor. This year’s bowl appearance will be the Husker’s 45th all-time bowl appearance, the fifth-highest total number of bowl appearances nationally. The 2009 Gator Bowl will also mark Nebraska’s 32nd bowl game on or after New Year’s Day and their 18th bowl game in the state of Florida.
There are several events planned for this year’s bowl game. 2009 Gator Bowl tickets are going fast, but other events can be attended if you miss out on them. Such special events include the Coaches Luncheon and Hall of Fame Induction, where you can take advantage of this great opportunity to meet and greet the coaches and players from Clemson and Nebraska, as well as legends from the Gator Bowls of the past. There are also things like the 2009 Gator Bowl pep rallies for both teams to take place the day before the game, each at their own times in the afternoon. There is a 5k run as well as the annual parade in downtown Jacksonville.There will also be the scheduled tailgate parties that happen the morning of the game in designated locations.
